Our guest Floor de Ruiter takes us into the new leadership that is needed in the major change processes in the agricultural sector

We would like to invite you to the next CHE salon in the series on Integral Leadership with Floor de Ruiter as guest (Flying Elephants). Floor is involved in the major change processes in agriculture.

The agricultural sector faces the enormous task of combining climate targets, reduction of nitrogen emissions, subsidence and nature development with economically sound agriculture. That evokes a lot of uncertainty and emotions. Especially because the traditional form of management of change processes no longer seems to work: the central government sets goals and frameworks, the provinces implement the policy in consultation with representatives such as LTO Nederland, and the farmers try to adapt to what they feel. doesn't go anymore. How could it be otherwise?

The different actors in the system all desire a different working method and different leadership. As a 'Spiral Wizard', Floor is involved in experiments to turn the chain around, to bring administrators and farmers together from a bottom-up process, starting with the conversation between dairy farmers in the Groene Hart. This process provides very interesting insights, but also raises all kinds of question marks.

Because, how can you deal with the strongly Blue/Orange thinking community of farmers from within 2nd Tier or Yellow leadership? And with the collective of conservationists that preferably operate from the Green value system? And with aldermen and deputies who often use an Orange value system. In short: how can you include all these actors and arrive at an innovative approach with common goals? And what does this personally require of the Integral Leader?

This question is central to the Salon on March 9 in De Roos in Amsterdam about the Future of the rural area.
