\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Especially for Western, secularized individuals, being religious\u2014and particularly in the traditional sense\u2014is far from a given. How will this evolve?<\/p>\n

For a long time, philosophers held the view that religion would systematically fade away from society. This process has stalled somewhat, and certain radical strands of atheism are seeking to reignite it. This radical atheism (e.g., Richard Dawkins, Etienne Vermeersch, Herman Philipse) is losing its appeal, especially among philosophers. Rather than religion disappearing entirely, many philosophers believe that religion must reinvent itself in light of ongoing criticism.<\/p>\n

Will a new form of religiosity be reborn from the ashes of tradition? And what will it look like? We\u2019ll explore this topic with philosopher of religion Dr. Dennis vanden Auweele, seeking the middle ground between religion and atheism, which \u201cin many cases is also a form of religion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eating Together<\/strong><\/p>\n

Venwoude offers visitors to the salon the opportunity to join us for a meal. The vegetarian meals are prepared with wholesome ingredients and fresh, locally sourced, seasonal vegetables. Venwoude charges \u20ac13.50 per person (cash only; please have the exact amount ready to pay the CHE Salon host on site), and we\u2019d appreciate it if you could help clean up afterward.<\/p>\n

To help us plan the meals and shopping, we\u2019ll let you know the number of diners on Friday morning. You can sign up for the meal by sending an email\u2014no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17\u2014to Martijn van der Meer<\/a> <\/p>\n

We offer these workshops in accordance with the CHE\u2019s \u201cpurpose and principles,\u201d and to ensure that we can continue to do so in the future, we ask for a financial contribution of at least \u20ac7.50.<\/p>\n
