‘“Where your talents meet the needs of the world, therein lies your vocation”  Aristotle

We kick off the New Year with Peter Merry, co-founder and former lead of the CHE NL. Peter currently works as Chief innovation officer at Ubiquity University and is participating in a Dutch educational transition network, together with Jan Rotmans and others. In this salon he shares his vision on contemporary societal developments, along with possible directions for — and lots of good practices of — futureproof education.

Topics we might touch upon:

  • Integral approaches to personalized learning.
  • The Sustainable Development Goals and how to help learners build the specific competencies they need to rise to these global challenges.
  • New skills for new jobs and changing societies: learning how to learn and adapt, both individually and collectively. Developing skills and ethics for resilience, dealing with uncertainty, effective collaboration.
  • Lifelong learning strategies and tools for recognition of prior learning.

Your are warmly invited to join us, and share your perspective(s) as learner, teacher/trainer, parent, changemaker, school leader, entrepreneur, citizen,…

You are cordially invited to participate in this salon. You can sign up by clicking on the green ‘Event bijwonen’ button and you will receive a confirmation of your registration. Of klik hier.

Registration is important, even if you do not eat along. We look for a suitable space depending on the number of participants. On the day of the salon you will be informed by mail in which room the salon will take place.

If you cannot come unexpectedly, send an SMS to Peter Luijten: 06-23184287.

Contribution

We offer the salons from the ‘purpose and principles’ of the CHE. To make this possible in the future, we ask a financial contribution of approximately € 7.50 for the evening.

It is also possible to become a donor. Our work is almost exclusively done by volunteers. The CHE has costs, for example for the membership of the Chamber of Commerce, the website, up to reimbursements for making connections between parties that can enter into partnerships that they couldn’t  have dreamed of. In order to continue making this possible, we also invite you to become a donor of the CHE. With an automatic transfer of a fixed amount per month you support our work. It could also be a one-time donation. The Center for Human Emergence NL is recognized as an official charity, which means that your donations are deductible for taxes.

Dinner

Venwoude offers the visitors of the salon the opportunity to eat, at 6 pm. The vegetarian meals are prepared with full-fledged products and fresh vegetables from the region and from the season. Venwoude calculates € 13.50 pp (to be paid cash) and it is appreciated when we help to clean up. For a good planning of the kitchen and the shopping we need to know the number of eaters on Friday. You can register for dinner by sending an email to peterluijten@hotmail.com no later than Friday, January 4, 5 p.m.
