Organisation

CHE In The Netherlands, CHE is a recognized, not-for-profit foundation and an autonomous part of the international CHE network.

The organizational structure of CHE Netherlands is an expression of:
• ‘Chaordic Design’, that generates the purpose and principles of the CHE,
• ‘Natural Design’, that reflects the functions that are needed within the organization,
• and ‘Holacracy’, that designs CHE's management and offers a system for decision-making.

The most important organizational principles of CHE Netherlands are:
  • We continuously align our actions with the core purpose, principles and mission
  • Decisions are being made on the basis of current consciousness and understanding (no 'what-if' scenarios') and are being fine tuned and adjusted on the basis of new information
  • We actively search for information from different angles and feel what is relevant for the whole, as this is our constant focus
  • Individual feelings are recognized as a reflection of what it tells us as part of the whole
  • We practice the application of Holacracy

Holacracy aligns the explicit structure of an organization with her natural organic expression and replaces as such the traditional linear hierarchy through collaborating self-governing teams (circles). Each circle is connected with other circles through representatives in the other circle. This speeds up efficient information sharing and feedback.

Every circle decides its own roles and the fulfilment by its circle members of those roles in order to achieve the purpose of the circle. Each role is assigned a set of accountabilities and is accountable to him/herself as well as to the organization for the execution. Holacracy is strongly focused on working methods and agreements that are workable in the now, and gives a lot of attention to the hidden information in tensions that people experience in their collaboration.
