See yonder comes the steamer….

In this salon we explore our relationship with the Zwarte Piet discussion and examine what it yields if we look at it from an integral perspective.
Why this salon? The CHE wants to contribute to the transition from postmodern (Green, first tier) to integral (Geel, second tier). What does that mean for current social issues and conflicting perspectives such as the polarization in the Zwarte Piet discussion? Is it possible to talk about Zwarte Piet and thus bring people closer together? Be surprised in your Purple roots and sharpen your Second Tier thinking in this salon!!
This salon is part of a series. In the 17-18 season we want to organize – also depending on the interest – a number of salons that deal with diversity from an Integral perspective. How do we deal with the black-and-white discussion, with the (apparent) contradictions between different religions, but also with our collective dark sides (slavery past, colonialization, Indonesia, the flood, and the like). We see working with these kinds of (historical) crises – just like personal problems and traumas – as necessary to be able to take the next evolutionary step and make the transition to the next value system. This is not going to happen from the comfort zone. Time to get out of the bubble!!! At the beginning of July 2018 we therefore also plan to organize a Keti Koti table in collaboration with others (see http://www.ketikotitafel.nl/).
We base our program in the four parts that Wilber has made: Growing up, Waking up, Cleaning up and Showing up.
Roma Long has studied educational science and has worked with vulnerable and “at-risk boys” in Rotterdam for the last eight years with an integral coaching program in which the families were also supported. For the past four years he has studied with Thomas Hübl in Germany where much shadow work has been done on the collective trauma of the Holocaust. During this work, he has come to see the importance of deeper research into his own African-American and Dutch roots.
Leida Schuringa As a sociologist and community worker, she has been involved in the multicultural society all her life and has also written a book about it: Dealing with diversity. A challenge. 2005, 3rd edition. The pain and sorrow of groups such as refugees, migrants, Roma and the hardening in society touch her deeply. But what is an adequate response to polarization? According to Leida, a deeper and broader insight is needed. Only if we look from a transcending, integral perspective, it is possible to move beyond the apparent contradictions.

Venwoude charges € 13,50 pp (in cash and to be paid to the CHE Salonhost there) and it is appreciated if we help clean up.
